3DS Water Damage?

I've made a bad habit of using my 3DS in the shower, protected in a ziploc bag so that I can use the YouTube feature. My showers tend to run long when I do this, and I've done it several times with my device being totally fine. Tonight when I took my DS out of its bag I noticed it was wet in places. It was still on, and everything seemed fine. I wiped away some water and turned it off and on a couple times, it did so just fine. I turned it off and unscrewed the back, confirming my fear that the battery had moisture on it. I patted everything dry with cotton balls but I could not get in to check the motherboard. I put it on its charging station for a second and the light did come on, but I'm scared to charge it for long lest I make it short-circuit or something. I put it in a bag with some rice, not enough to submerge it (I don't want my mom to notice the rice gone) but enough to spread on the bottom half. Is there anything else I can do to ensure I haven't damaged my game?
