Hello!
My issue actually is related to a friend of mine, living in the Netherlands. His is a repeated issue that all began with what appeared to be an odd problem: Upon returning to his Home screen, content at first became corrupted and unplayable. Shortly afterwards, his 3DS XL altogether wouldn't power up, even on a full charge.
So, he set his 3DS XL up for repairs, had it sent in for said issue. Nintendo was unable to find a problem, but compensated by sending him a new 3DS XL.
Here is where it gets a bit odd.
So, he sets up his new 3DS XL. The unit powers on, but shortly after setup and downloading his content from the eShop, the 3DS XL blacks out again, unable to power up. He then sets up another repair with Nintendo, reporting the same issue having happened. Nintendo suggested it could have been the SD card, but agreed to look into things. He was then sent another new 3DS XL (Note: new 3DS XL, not "New 3DS XL" is what is being referenced here), with a new SD card.
He powers his system up with the new SD card. Same proceedure--he sets up his account, he downloads his content, and the 3DS XL, yet again, black out, unable to power up. He requests Nintendo look into his account to see if there maybe is any tampering, any hacking, any glitches or bugs, because let's be honest--three Nintendo 3DS XL's in a row, blacking out? I asked him if he had a bad power outlet, or dirty power (power outlet that sends irregular electrical current, since this happened with a friend of mine's computers in the past). He'd said he looked into it, the outlets were fine. I asked him if he'd used any illegal/unsupported/pirated software, but he states that all his games are either purchased via the eShop or purchased new from his local game stores.
THIS time, he takes a personal trip to Nintendo in the Netherlands. Nintendo themselves bore witness to the situation happening to his 3DS XL to see that he indeed was not pulling their tail, but even they were unable to figure it out.
So, off to Nintendo of Germany, for Germany to investigate the situation. Again, he reports to them the same problem, and raises concerns about his account. Well...today, he'd gotten word back from them there was "no issues found," and as before, were willing to compensate by sending him another new 3DS XL unit. He's become very concerned--Three units sent to him, one unit at Nintendo's Netherlands, and a fifth one coming from Nintendo in Germany. I myself am puzzled, I've looked around, and I honestly have no ideas at all what could be the issue. Does anyone have any remote idea what could be causing the situation? This has been going on for several months now between shipping back and forth, and it would be really great to have the situation remedied, or at least figured out. I KNOW this is Nintendo of America's page, but since he hasn't found much help or information on the European end of things, I'm doing him a favour by posting my request question here in hopes of getting any information.

Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Thank you all so very much!
