New 3DS XL Freezes/Errors When Accessing eShop or Miiverse

I just bought the NEW 3DS XL and completed my system transfer yesterday 3/5/15 (with no problems). When I try to access the eShop or Miiverse, my new 3DS XL usually freezes while the app tries to open, or I receive an error message. When I test my internet connection settings, it completes successfully. So far I have not had any problems while playing games. I have been able to access the eShop and Miiverse once each, but all other times my system has frozen or given me an error message. I tried using the WiFi at home and I tried today at my work, but I experience the same issues with either internet connection. Also, it takes a long time to try to access either Miiverse or eShop before it freezes/errors. For the eShop I receive error 005-4305 (An error has occurred. Please try again later). Miiverse usually goes into Offline Mode instead. I have had to manually shut off my system when it freezes on the Miiverse or eShop loading screens.

 

Is my system faulty or could my settings be causing problems?
