Hello. everyone. I'm new here on Nintendo tech forums. My problem is as follows:
I recently traded my 3DS with someone who was going to trade in their zelda 25th anniversary 3DS to gamestop. My DS was a regular cosmo black 3DS. It seemed like a good idea at the time. But several days later, I realized that I'd made a horrible mistake. When I was trying to access my DLC on Fire Emblem Awakening, the game kept telling me that my maps were not on the SD card, and when I tried to access the online shop, first I would recieve an error telling me that I couldn't connect to the access point (which is absurd, because I could from the settings), then proceeding to not even trying to connect to the online shop. The game would also act wierd and freeze up too. I was wondering why my 3DS was doing this. I did some research, and found out that the DLC on your 3DS system is LOCKED TO YOUR SYSTEM, rather than to your SD card or to some account system. So I called Nintendo support and told them about my problem, and after about a half an hour, I was talking to a supervisor. He basically told me that he can't get my DLC back unless I can "prove" that I no longer own the system (through a reciept or something), but the problem is that I don't have the reciept. The people who traded the system in would be the only people who would have the reciept, and I'm not even sure if they have it at this point. I asked GameStop if I could have a reciept printed for me, but GameStop says that have no access to their own transaction records, and can't release any information on whether or not they own my old system.
So, as you've probably guessed by now, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have over $40 worth of DLC that I can't use now. What can I do to go about getting my DLC back?
